Prince William's Choice of Engagement Ring

It seems obvious that Prince William of Britain chose to propose to Kate Middleton because he wanted to honor his beloved mother with his own advancement in his relationship. I think it's pretty obvious that he was unsuccessful, as he was actually (probably unwittingly) honoring his father - not 'merely' an adulterer, but a "man" who got married to one woman while he was already in love with another woman - instead.

So, ya didn't really think that one through; did ya, William? For the most important moment in his life thus far (save, perhaps, his birth), one would think he would have considered every possible crook and catch present the entire day.

Also, William, please read The Good Book to find the reason the most desirable women receive an engagement ring with a diamond for its focal stone.
